The new and improved Alma Street Play Areas!

At the beginning of Greener Together, local residents said they wanted to improve the spaces for play and exercise in the area.
Over 80 residents were involved in the design and Playinnovation brought it all to life.
The process included:

Sorting the existing drainage issues

Making the spaces fully accessible for wheelchairs and buggies

Repairing the fencing

New multi-use goals, nets and markings for football and basketball

Target games to practise football and basketball skills

A new outdoor gym

Two new table tennis tables

New swings and seating

Improved green spaces - better for us and for wildlife

Cycle racks

On 19th March 2022, we unveiled the new and improved play areas, and our re-opening party was enjoyed by the whole community.

We’re now creating a plan to develop the play area on Waddington Street. Want to join a working group to get involved in the planning and fundraising? Email alma@greenertogether.co.uk

Thanks

We would also like to thank Newham Council for allocating additional money for the play area upgrade to take place, and for supporting us through the planning process.
